We will start publishing English summaries of our most important news stories. This has been a request from non-Finnish-speaking members and we’re happy to make our work easier to follow for everyone in our member community.
Turku Chamber has dozens of English-speaking member organisations and even more individuals who prefer communicating in English. According to our most recent survey, around 40 of our 2,000 member organisations use a language other than Finnish or Swedish as their primary working language. Many people in these organisations also speak Finnish, but the results clearly indicate that the Chamber needs to provide information and services in several languages.
While most of our services are already available in English, including our advisory services and many of our training sessions, we also want to make our news more accessible. During the first half of 2026, seven per cent of the content published in the news section of our website was in English. Some articles were translations, while others were published exclusively in English. That is a reasonable share, but reading only those articles does not give a complete picture of our activities, priorities and advocacy work.
We will start publishing regular, concise English-language summaries of our latest news in our members-only newsletter and on our public website. The summaries will be published every few weeks. We will use AI-assisted translation and select the most important stories for each summary.
By providing more information in English, we want to make it easier not only for Chamber members, but also international professionals and organisations to stay informed about business issues in Southwest Finland.
