Taiteen talo is a vibrant meeting place for different art forms – for both creators and audiences alike!
CEO Jere Pensikkala says their goal is to create an environment that is diverse, surprising and inviting. Taiteen talo’s five galleries, cinema and theatre provide an excellent foundation for this. In addition, the venue includes restaurants, a ceramics studio, workspaces for visual artists, and rentable event spaces.
Pensikkala highlights that “the four-year history of the arts centre is the result of collaboration and a shared vision. Our community and event organisers are responsible for the content – and there is plenty of it.” Last year, the venue hosted 2,150 events and welcomed more than 105,000 visitors.
Taiteen talo is eagerly looking forward to the coming summer and the events it will bring. “The inner courtyards of Taiteen talo and Brinkkala, as well as Luostarin Välikatu, will once again fill with events and people,” Pensikkala describes. The end of the year will also bring changes, as Åbo Svenska Teater will relocate to Taiteen talo during its renovation in 2027–2028.
Pensikkala sees Southwest Finland – and Turku in particular – as an excellent operating environment. “Taiteen talo is at the heart of the development of Turku’s Old Town, so there could be no better place for us than Southwest Finland and Turku. Local actors are used to working together, which is critical for our success,” he explains.
Pensikkala’s message: “Welcome to the events and services of Taiteen talo! We are also happy to welcome chamber of commerce members as tenants and as part of our community.”
